Leadership Experience
Active in the academic and nonprofit world for over 20 years, Vince has led a national nonprofit organization, developed successful nonprofit/corporate partnership programs, chaired national education efforts and served as a field leader on steering committees and advisory boards.
He currently serves on several leadership committees, including: the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools, Service Learning Leaders Circle and Service Learning United. Vince has also served as a member of America's Promise Ready for the Real World Working Group, the General Motors Educational Advisory Council, the World Water Monitoring Day Founding Advisory Committee and the Ethos Water Advisory Board.
As the President of Earth Force for several years, Vince led a team of committed and talented individuals who set the national standard for quality civic and environmental education for young people. Among his most important achievements is committing Earth Force to high standards of accountability for individual, organizational and programmatic excellence. Vince’s focus on developing systems for personal accountability tied to outside program evaluation, helped make Earth Force one of the highest performing organizations in the fields of environmental education, youth service and service learning.
Partnership Development
At Earth Force, Vince also initiated successful corporate partnerships that combined Earth Force’s commitment to young people with Fortune 500 companies’ commitment to their communities, to deliver award-winning programs nationwide. A partnership between Earth Force and General Motors married the intellectual capital of GM’s environmental engineers with the curiosity and passion of young people. The program also enabled Earth Force to expand its reach to several new states. A similar partnership with the Staples Foundation for Learning combined the power of Earth Force and Staples to re-imagine how educators can work with young people. The partnership has engaged hundreds of Staples associates as volunteers and thousands of young people as citizens, and it has also supported Earth Force’s growth in new communities.
Corporate Background
Prior to his leadership at Earth Force, Vince spearheaded efforts to develop philanthropic strategies for the wireless telephone industry as the Director of Operations at the Wireless Foundation. He created national initiatives that provided vital human services while enhancing marketing, public relations and government relations efforts of contributing companies.
Call To Protect, for example—a national partnership between the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Motorola, wireless telephone carriers and local domestic violence organizations—provided wireless phones and airtime to victims of domestic violence, in many cases saving their lives. The partnership, which just celebrated its 12-year anniversary, has donated over $10,000,000 to domestic violence organizations nationwide, engaged hundreds of members of congress and generated very positive media.
